Jeco Energies youngest pioneer in energy solutions

HERENTALS, June 1, 2022 – For years, DSG Belgium, DSG Netherlands and their independent spin-off GENS Rental have been providing a smooth service to industrial companies in need of an emergency solution for their high-voltage installation. Now the three companies will merge as one holding company under a new name: Jeco Energies. With this change of direction, including the hiring of CEO Bob Zegers, a resolute decision is being made to invest in an even stronger market position.

Measurements, technical diagnostics, assembly, mounting, inspection, maintenance, repairs … DSG is a company that focuses on one niche, namely high-voltage and industrial electrical installations. Within that branch, it takes on an awful lot of activities. Combined with the 24/7 intervention service of spin-off company GENS Rental, they are one of the main points of reference within the sector. “To further strengthen that name, we decided to merge the Belgian and Dutch divisions and include GENS Rental back into it,” says Jef Van den Brande, owner of the three companies since 2015. The new holding company Jeco Energies will be a reality as of June 1, 2022.

New CEO

This evolution is further marked by the arrival of a new CEO. Bob Zegers, formerly General Manager Specialty Rental Europe at Atlas Copco, joins the existing management team as of June 1. With his years of experience in sales, marketing, operations and management, he complements the company’s current growth ambitions well. “Together we are further expanding Jeco Energies, including through a number of strategic acquisitions,” says Bob Zegers. “Our services and quality are known and we can count on an established customer base in Belgium and the Netherlands. Now it is a matter of putting Jeco even further on the international map and pioneering the energy solutions of the future.”

Reliable solution

Under the DSG name, the company already experienced substantial growth in recent years. The team of employees expanded from 25 to more than 70, and with GENS Rental, DSG added the rental of self-built mobile transformer containers to its already broad business portfolio in 2017. “We notice a need for quick and reliable solutions when high-voltage installations fail,” says Jef Van den Brande. “This is why we offer an intervention service that can be called upon at any time. By deploying mobile transformers, battery containers and switching containers, our specialists jump into the breach for the customer and provide a temporary solution that is guaranteed to solve the problem. We are on-call in Europe, Africa and Asia.”

Looking Ahead

In those specialized projects, quality standards, safety requirements and legal regulations are always at the forefront. In addition, DSG offers maintenance contracts to relieve customers and keep their installations in top condition. With a customer base at home and abroad and all the required expertise and technical skills in house to realize high-voltage projects from start to finish, the company is now moving forward as a single entity and under the new name Jeco Energies. “And behind our strong team is a strong, new leader with Bob,” concludes Jef Van den Brande. “We are extremely happy with that. We look forward to special opportunities in the coming years.”
