Jeco Energies: the youngest pioneer in energy solutions

HERENTALS, 1 June 2022 – DSG Belgium, DSG Netherlands and their independent spin-off GENS Rental have spent years developing urgent solutions for high-voltage installations on behalf of companies in the industrial sector. The three companies will now merge to create one holding company under the name Jeco Energies. This change of course, which includes the appointment of CEO Bob Zegers, is based on a firm commitment to further improving the market position.

From measurements, technical diagnoses and assembly to inspections, maintenance and repairs, DSG specialises in a niche market: high-voltage installations and industrial electrical installations. The company engages in a wide range of activities within this branch. This, combined with the 24/7 intervention service of spin-off company GENS Rental, makes them a high-profile player in this sector. ‘To further strengthen this image, we decided to merge the Dutch and Belgian divisions and incorporate GENS Rental,’ explains Jef Van den Brande, the owner of all three companies since 2015. The new holding company, Jeco Energies, will enter into operation on 1 June 2022.

New CEO

This evolution is further characterised by the appointment of a new CEO. Bob Zegers, the former managing director of Specialty Rental Europe at Atlas Copco, will join the existing management team on 1 June. With years of experience in sales, marketing, operations and management, his expertise aligns perfectly with the company’s growth ambitions. ‘Together we will further expand Jeco Energies by making a number of strategic acquisitions,’ explains Zegers. ‘We are known for our services and quality and we have built an extensive network of clients in the Netherlands and Belgium. Now is the time to strengthen Jeco’s position on the international map and begin pioneering the energy solutions of the future.’

Reliable solutions

DSG has enjoyed considerable growth in recent years. The team of employees was expanded from 25 to more than 70 and the acquisition of GENS Rental in 2017 added self-built mobile transformer containers to the company's already impressive portfolio. ‘Fast and reliable solutions are crucial when high-voltage installations fail,’ explains Jef Van den Brande. ‘That’s why we offer a 24/7 intervention service. Our experts have access to mobile transformers, battery containers and switchgear containers to help clients in need and to provide a temporary solution to the problem. We operate across Europe, Africa and Asia.’

Looking to the future

Quality standards, safety laws and statutory regulations play a vital role in these specialised projects. DSG also offers maintenance contracts to support customers and keep their installations in prime condition. With a national and international client base, extensive experience and the technical expertise to take on high-voltage projects from start to finish, the company is now operating as a unified whole under the name Jeco Energies. ‘Our strong team has an equally strong leader in Bob Zegers,’ says Van den Brande. ‘We couldn’t be happier with our new CEO and we look forward to taking on exciting new opportunities in the future.’

When power becomes smart.
